Oh, my goodness!  I'm actually doing "this."  I have said all year that I was was going to start blogging.  Here it is December 31, 2014, 5 hours and 58 minutes away from the New Year and I did it! I am blogging!  No one may read this and that's okay.  I am writing because I need to write some things down.  This is a great time for me to reflect on all that has taken place in 2014.

This year has gone oh, so fast!!!  Seriously.  It is as if we sat down to ride the new roller coaster on January 1, 2014 with that slow and steady movement to the top of the ride where it is takes off for the "ride of your life," and just like that we are pulling in to the area where the ride ends.  We exit the seats and step out into the new year.  Figuratively and literally, life is a roller coaster.  Remember 4 -Him?  They had a hit Christian song all about "this roller coaster ride of life."  Well, 2014 has had so many wonderful moments and celebrations; some sad and not so great moments.  Yet, God is always good and always working!

Guy and I celebrated 30 years of marriage!  Those 30 years represent LOTS of hard work, love, tears of joy and sadness, redemption and restoration, and so much more.   We've experienced the best of times and the worst of times.  Guess what?  With God's help, we didn't just survive.  WE ARE THRIVING!!!  We are better than ever and learning to enjoy the empty nest, minus the 2 cats and two dogs (they don't live in the house).

I have watched God answer prayers this year that I began praying for in 2013.  I prayed hard for my kids with specific requests.  I have watched God unfold some beautiful and amazing things in their lives this year.  Now, notice, I started those prayers very specifically in 2013.  All I can say is God does answer prayers!  He answers in His time, not mine, and His ways are better than I could dream! He is still working on some of those requests.  I trust Him.  He has the plan!

A big change for Guy and I in 2014, God moved us to a new church that we love and call home. Making a decision to leave a church that you have been a part of for 14 1/2 years is not easy.  We still love our friends at CBC and always will, but we needed to be obedient to the Lord.  Through lots of prayer, we know that God has us exactly where He wants us.  It is exciting to get involved in this church and serve as there are needs and God opens doors!  We are thankful for our pastor, our small group, our new friends, and all that God is doing in our lives and the place we call home, NorthStar.

I'll close out this blog and this year by saying:  to God be the glory great things He has done!  I cannot wait to see the wonderful things He will do in 2015!  I'm going to get in line to catch the ride! My hands are lifted to Lord as I ask Him to take control and guide me all the way!  He never disappoints and I always stand amazed!

Happy New Year, 2015!!!

P.S.  Life is the only kind of roller coaster I ride!  LOL  Just a little fact you should know about me if you didn't know that already.  There are stories some could tell.    :)
